Common problems that may cause issues with FireNet1 use.

 

Question:        "Whenever I try to send out an email with Outlook or Outlook Express, I recieve an SMTP, port 25, or SPAM error. How do I fix this problem?"

Answer:          The most common cause of these problems is that Outlook (or Outlook Express) has not been fully configured.

Question:        "My Internet speeds seem to have slowed down drastically recently. What can I do to speed this back up?"

Answer:          There are many reasons that internet speeds may seem slower.

At peak times of usage (typically between 4:30PM to 9:00PM), some slow down can occur, but usually this slowdown is not very drastic.

Another common issue can be spyware and viruses that can use your internet connection without you even knowing it.

There are many programs to help with the removal of basic spyware and viruses. We have links to some free programs to help with this here.

Another basic problem that can cause drastic network slowdown is if the Internet Cache has gotten quite large. It is very easy to clean out this cache with no harm to the computer or its use. There is a link on how to do this here .
