- We have a 195 foot tower here in Southaven.
This is a Saber self-supporter and was installed by Pegasus Towers. - In Southaven, Mississippi we have a 45MB on ramp.
This “on ramp” is installed with redundant fiber optic entries coming into our data center. Now this may not seem significant but if for some reason a car runs over a fiber box or a backhoe digs up a cable we have been assured that we will not recognize any down time to the network. - There are redundant servers, redundant fiber, everything has been duplicated.
- Our data center is environmentally protected. It is kept at a very cool 68° F with multiple air conditioning units.
If one fails then the other will continue to cool the room until a repair is made. If the temperature rises above 78° F our network personnel are notified via company cell phone. This alerting system will notify someone if there is a problem like water, heat, or some other environmental concern. - We’ve taken steps to insure that service interruption due to power issues does not happen!
- We have UPS on every computer in our center. This includes desktops and servers. Same for switches, and hubs.
- Additionally we have a 200 Kva natural gas fed generator.
There is a trigger on this generator that detects a failure within 3 seconds and kicks this generator on automatically. Each Monday at 1:20 pm this generator kicks on and runs to make sure everything is okay with the system. It simulates a failure, switches the power, runs for 10 minutes to check the power and once it detects that its getting a clean stream from Entergy it shuts down. Mike Perkins, Firenet1
